While Walt Disney Pictures newest film, Wish, will not be hitting theaters until November 22nd, Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort will have the chance to meet the star of the film before she makes her big-screen debut. Beginning November 1st, 2023, Asha can be found at the World Showcase Friendship Ambassador Gazebo at EPCOT.

Asha Meet-and-Greet Times

• 9:30 a.m.

• 10:45 a.m.

• 11:55 a.m.

• 1:50 p.m.

• 3:00 p.m.

Asha’s debut at the Walt Disney World parks was first announced back at the D23 Expo in September, though no official date for her grand appearance was given at the time. Her appearance at EPCOT on November 1st was a bit of a welcome surprise. 

Wish (2023)

Opening in theaters on November 22nd, 2023, Wish is an animated musical comedy that uses a mix of traditional and 3D animation to tell the story of Asha – a witty seventeen-year-old from the fictional kingdom of Rosas. The film is meant to celebrate the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary and will feature many nods to iconic films from the Walt Disney Animation Studios library. The animation style is similar to that of the old rotoscope style that was used for films like Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. It is, in ways, a love letter to Walt Disney himself. Most notably, it will tell the story of the wishing star that has been featured in so many beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios films, and in the iconic opening titles of most Walt Disney Studios films.

Wish is directed by Chris Buck (Frozen, Frozen II) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon). Its star-studded cast includes the voices of Ariana DeBose as Asha and Chris Pine as King Magnifico, the ruler of the film’s fictional kingdom of Rosas and the villain. Also starring are Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, Victor Garber as Asha’s grandfather Sabino, Natasha Rothwell as Asha’s mother Sakina, Jennifer Kumiyama as Asha’s best friend Dahlia, Evan Peters as Simon, Harvey Guillén as Gabo, Ramy Youssef as Safi, Niko Vargas as Hal, Della Saba as Bazeema, and Jon Rudnitsky as Dario.
