Snacks Worth Trying at Universal Studio’s & Island’s of Adventure & Where to Find Them!
It’s no secret that when vacationing in Orlando visiting the theme parks is at the top of everyone’s list! It’s all about the rush you get riding your favorite ride or snapping a photo with your favorite character but there’s one thing we think is just as important… The Snacks! A good snack has significance when thinking about your overall experience at a theme park.
Most snacks at the Universal Orlando Resort are based on the land you’re in. The TV show and/or movie in the surrounding area makes it easy to hop around and grab what you’re looking for and one MAJOR tip is that most, if not all, are Instagram Worthy so make sure your phone is fully charged because you’ll want to snap pics! We’ve hunted down the best snacks at Orlando Studios, so you don’t have to, and we’re sharing our list with you!
Butterbeer
Regardless of what house you’re in, every wizard loves a good Butterbeer and Universal’s culinary team has brought the vision to life! Take it from us, you haven’t really been too Universal if you leave without indulging in this sweet treat. Butterbeer comes in a few forms and is perfect for any occasion. Head over to The Three Broomsticks or The Leaky Cauldron to sip it slow, cold or frozen on a warm summer day or enjoy it hot when the weather is a bit cooler, you can even hop on over to Sugarplum’s Sweetshop to give the fudge a try or Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor if that’s more your style!
Green Eggs and Ham Tots
“I do not eat Green Eggs and Ham, I do not eat them Sam I am!” said no one who’s ever been to the Green Eggs & Ham Café! This dish is based on everyone’s favorite childhood book, Dr. Suess’ Green Eggs and Ham. We don’t know about you, but as a child we often wondered what this green delicacy would taste like and now we don’t have to (and neither do you!) The base of this dish is crispy tater tots, which are then covered with green eggs (yes really!), diced ham and a cheese sauce. If you’ve got little ones with you, this might be the perfect pre-lunch snack for just $9.99.
The Pig Pink
I’m sure most of us have dreamt of a day in Springfield at some time or another, if for no other reason than indulging in the Big Pink, Springfield’s infamous pink donut. Run, don’t walk, over to Lard Lad Donuts in Springfield, U.S.A to get your hands on what is quite possibly the biggest donut you may ever eat! The Big Pink is a donut with pink icing and rainbow sprinkles and, if you’re anything like Homer Simpson, you may not be able to stop at just one (although we usually share one around here!)
Sweet & Savory Crepes
We love a quick-service spot with handheld options because let’s be honest, whether you’re juggling kids, or you’ve got a drink in hand, eating on the go in a theme park is nice! Just outside of Hollywood is Central Park Crepes and they’ve got an array of options for everyone’s liking. If you’re feeling savory, we recommend the Chicken & Goat Cheese crepe (because who doesn’t love Goat Cheese) and if you’re feeling sweet, give the Lemon Blueberry a try! It’s important to note there is also a vegetarian option available.
The Smoked Turkey Leg
You didn’t really think we’d leave this classic off the list, did you? Who goes to a theme park and leaves without a turkey leg? It really should be criminal. There’s one word to describe this Universal snack and it’s MASSIVE. We prefer to eat ours in Jurassic Park (for the perfect insta-worthy surrounding!), but they’re good anywhere in the park!
There are so many snack that are worth a try at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, we’re really just scratching the surface! It can be a tough decision deciding what you should and shouldn’t try and we hope we’ve helped make that decision just a little easier for you! Be sure to come back and tell us which snack was your favorite.
